Cosmos and the sea - at the interface of horizons

This was another of the series of meetings organized by the Space Science Commission at the PAN Department in Gdańsk under the chairmanship of prof. Edmund Wittbrodt. The purpose of these conferences is to exchange information and experience as well as create a plane of agreement and integrate environments from the world of science, administration and economy operating in the field of use of space. The sea and space - these are two areas that cognition and exploitation still challenges new challenges. The development of technology allows you to use the resource in the sea and more and more boldly reaching for space techniques. The intention of the conference Cosmos and the sea - at the interface of horizons, is to create a platform for exchanging views, presenting knowledge and discussing the results of research and applications binding these two areas seemingly only distant from each other. They are connected by a number of issues related to legal regulations, management and technologies discussed at previous meetings from this cycle. Their marine aspects and in particular safety at sea, satellite communication, navigation and music video will be the main topics of these subsequent deliberations.

Co-organizers were scientific institutions involved in research covering the subject of the conference: Polish Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Polish SCOR), Scientific Consortium SatBałtyk, Institute of Oceanology Polish Academy of Sciences, and Departments of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management at the National Research Institute in Gdynia and Krakow.
