

The light arriving at the sea surface interacts with the sea water and its various constituents. Such interactions are described by the optical properties of seawater. Generally speaking, these can be divided into inherent and apparent optical properties. The former relate to the type of seawater constituents, the latter to light fields. The SatBałtyk System provides a variety of these inherent and apparent optical properties of seawater. These are characterized in the text below.
