On 3 November 2015 a measurement buoy was anchored in the Gulf of Gdańsk (54.438° N,  19.004° E). From this position it supplies the SatBałtyk System with in situ measurements of basic physical parameters like temperature and salinity, optical parameters such as coefficients of the absorption and attenuation of light, and weather parameters.
